Dental Advisory Board
Charge & Bylaws
The UFCD Dental Advisory Board Committee provides advice to the dean of the University of Florida College of Dentistry on issues associated with dental education and dental workforce needs in Florida. The committee provides an opportunity for information exchange regarding issues of mutual interest to the University of Florida and the Florida Dental Association.
The membership will consist of the dean of the University of Florida College of Dentistry, the chair of the FDA Council on Dental Education and Licensure, the six FDA district association representatives who serve as members of CDEL and three members at-large selected by the dean.
Terms for the chair and members of CDEL will be the same as the term served on that FDA committee, which is currently set at two years. The three members at-large will serve for a term of two years, at which point the dean will appoint a replacement.
Frequency of Meetings
The UFCD Dental Advisory Board will meet one time per year in concert with the FNDC meeting. The University of Florida is responsible for organizing the meeting, disseminating the meeting materials, and for any expenses related to the meeting. UF does not fund travel to the meeting and meets in concert with the FNDC meeting to minimize the travel burden and expense on participants. The meetings are typically scheduled to immediately follow the CDEL meetings and typically last no longer than 90 minutes.
