COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Dental hygiene education is never complete. It is a lifelong learning process that occurs everyday. The dental hygienist is not only a clinician but also must accept the responsibility of becoming a researcher and informed educator for their patients. Our patients want and expect to receive optimal dental hygiene care that includes specific product recommendations and treatment with cutting edge products and devices.To provide optimal dental hygiene care to our patients, we must keep up with the rapidly changing body of knowledge that is constantly affected by new technology.

This course provides a current review of the latest and greatest technology, products and devices that are aggressively promoted to the dental hygienist. The course format will provide an opportunity for participants to have a hands-on experience with many of the products and devices.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

The speaker's personal objective for participants is:

  • To excite and empower participants to step out of the day-to-day routine and embrace new products
  • and technology that will improve patient treatment outcomes
  • Identify remineralization products that improve the outcome of patient care
  • Review features and benefits of popular prophylaxis products and determine which claims have merit
  • Smell, taste and feel what you are subjecting your patients to during dental hygiene treatment procedures
  • Understand instrumentation technique differences between magnetostrictive and piezoelectric ultrasonic technology
  • Evaluate new hand instruments opportunities beyond the SH6/H7 and S204S
  • Understand the benefits of vision enhancement loupes for improved visual acuity during patient care, decreased clinician eye strain and relief from lower back pain
  • Identify your ideal custom vision enhancement loupe design and magnification level for improved patient care
  • Explore new dental hygiene technology currently transitioning into the 21st century
