Pediatric Dentistry Residents Perfect on ABPD Qualifying Examination

Congratulations are in order! All 11 University of Florida College of Dentistry pediatric dentistry residents in the graduating class of 2017 achieved a 100 percent success rate on the recent Qualifying Examination, QE, of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, or ABPD.

Five residents from UFCD’s NCEF Pediatric Dental Clinic in Naples, and six Gainesville-based residents perfectly passed the QE taken in May.

“We are all very proud of our residents and wish them continued success in their careers,” Abi Adewumi, B.D.S., FDSRCS, clinical associate professor, residency program director and director of hospital dentistry in the UFCD Department of Pediatric Dentistry said. “I am also very grateful to our incredible faculty members for their dedication and commitment to the education of our residents.”

The QE is one examination of the two-part certification process for Diplomate status in the ABPD. The examination is designed to generate evidence toward validation of the individual’s advanced training in pediatric dentistry.
