Kashtwari Appointed as CODA Site Visitor for Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology

Deeba Kashtwari, B.D.S., M.S., clinical assistant professor in the University of Florida Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Diagnostic Sciences has been appointed as the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) site visitor for Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, effective Fall 2017.

CODA site visitors are appointed annually, and exercise their education and practice expertise in the discipline being evaluated to help conduct the Commission’s accreditation program. Candidates recommended to serve as site visitors for advanced specialty education are preferred to be board certified and/or to have completed or participated in a CODA-accredited specialty education program, and must have experience in advanced education as teachers or administrators.

Dr. Kashtwari will begin her CODA site visitor appointment effective Fall 2017.

Kashtwari joined the college in July 2014 and shortly thereafter earned Diplomate status of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (ABOMR) in January of 2015. She serves on the college’s Advanced Education Faculty Committee and is the Clinical Affairs and Quality Assurance subcommittee chair for Radiation Safety and Quality Assurance.

She received her dental degree in 2003 from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Karnataka, India. She completed a clinical research and faculty development fellowship in 2011 and earned her master’s in oral and maxillofacial radiology in 2014, both from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Kashtwari worked in several private practice settings before continuing her education in North Carolina, where she served as a teaching assistant for four years during her studies.

In addition to being the division director and the interim program director for Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology, she is involved in D.M.D. education, graduate education, treating patients in the college’s faculty practice center, and participating in clinical research endeavors. She also serves as the Radiation Safety Officer for UFCD.
