Congratulations to Amy Luce, D.M.D, chief resident in pediatric dentistry at the University of Florida College of Dentistry, who was honored with the Ralph E. McDonald Research Award from the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) for her research project, Arginine Metabolism and Bacterial Changes of Oral Biofilms in Children. Marcelle Nascimento, D.D.S., M.S., Ph.D., serves as Luce’s faculty mentor.
The award, presented during the AAPD Annual Session in Seattle in May 2015 following oral presentations, is given to the graduate student who is judged by the AAPD Council of Scientific Affairs as having accomplished the most outstanding research project. The recipient also received a cash award of $1,000.
Established in 1991, the award honors Ralph E. McDonald, AAPD past-president and editor emeritus.
