Gator Dentists Gather during Hinman

14 Hinman ReceptionOn March 28, Gator Dentists from across the region enjoyed a reception hosted by the University of Florida College of Dentistry Alumni and Friends in Atlanta, Ga.

Boyd Robinson, D.D.S, M.Ed., interim dean of the college, welcomed a large group of faculty, staff, students, alumni, friends and future UF College of Dentistry students.

The reception was held in conjunction with the 102nd Thomas P. Hinman Dental Meeting at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center in downtown Atlanta. For the second consecutive year, this fun-filled event was made possible by a generous gift from Gerri Ferris, D.M.D., a member of the class of 1980, and the Thomas P. Hinman Board of Trustees.

With more than 60 guests in attendance, the reception served as an excellent opportunity for Robinson and other college leadership to build stronger relationships with alumni, friends and students.

Laban Bontrager, D.M.D., class of 1979, from Bristol, Fla.; Nancy Geller, D.M.D., class of  1985, from Sandy Springs, Ga.; Craig Sterling, D.M.D., class of 1990, from Jupiter, Fla.; and Ronald St. John, D.M.D., class of 2013, from Newport, Vt.

A large group of faculty members attended the meeting and reception including: Venita Sposetti, D.M.D., associate professor and associate dean for education; Pamela Sandow, D.M.D., clinical professor and assistant dean for admissions & financial aid; and Frank Dolwick, D.M.D., Ph.D., professor and chair of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

The student population was also well-represented in Atlanta. Lauren Andreolas and Tyler Oatment, both members of the class of 2015 and recipients of Hinman Scholarships this year, attended the meeting and the reception. Camilla Miskovich, D.M.D. class of 2015, and Patrick Fitzgerald, D.M.D. class of 2016, were on hand representing the college’s Dental Ambassadors, a students group who supports various college events and meetings during the year.
