Yilmaz receives CTSI award

Congratulations to Özlem Yilmaz, D.D.S., Ph.D., associate professor in periodontology and oral biology, who recently received the Master Certificate for Ozlem Yilmaz, Ph. D.Excellence in Human Subject Research and Protections from the University of Florida Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) and was also one of 13 UF faculty members who became a Fellow of the Academy of Research Excellence of the CTSI.

The Master Certificate for Excellence in Human Subject Research and Protections is an advanced, practically-oriented program to develop excellence in human-subject research focusing on regulatory requirements, practical aspects of running a clinical/translational research enterprise, and research integrity and professionalism.

The six-month special training program is offered by the CTSI Academy of Research Excellence and launched in 2012 as part of UF’s continuing commitment to excellence in health science research.  The CTSI Academy of Research Excellence is dedicated to promote high-quality, innovative clinical research, with the highest regard for research integrity, ethics, professionalism and regulatory requirements. The graduates of the academy are committed to supporting an atmosphere of professional collegiality and openness, including active role-modeling and the mentoring of junior faculty and health science students.
