Welcoming a familiar face

The UF College of Dentistry is pleased to welcome a friend back to the college. Myung-Rae Kim, D.D.S., M.S.D., Ph.D., a former fellow at the college, is on sabbatical from the Ehwa Women’s University Medical School in Seoul, Korea, where he is a professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
 
He is visiting the UF College of Dentistry until Aug. 5 and will be lecturing to residents and attending clinics and the operating room.
 
From September 1988 through August 1989, Kim was a fellow in the University of Florida Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Later he served as chair of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Ehwa Women’s University Medical School and started a graduate School of Dentistry there that included residencies in all dental specialties; he became the school’s first dean.
 
Kim has served as president of the Korean Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and president of the Asian Dental Implant Association. He is a distinguished Asian Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon.
