Bhattacharyya appointed coordinator of international programs
Indraneel Bhattacharyya, D.M.D., M.S. an associate professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Diagnostic Sciences was recently appointed Coordinator of International Education Programs for the University of Florida College of Dentistry.
“The responsibilities of this position are varied and important, and Dr. Bhattacharyya will work closely with our faculty and students to coordinate the college’s international efforts including outreach efforts in other countries which involve our students and faculty, and representing the college to the Health Science Center and university in regards to international affairs,” said Teresa A. Dolan, D.D.S., M.P.H., professor and dean, “We wish him the best in this new role.”
Bhattacharyya earned a B.D.S. degree from the University of Calcutta in Calcutta, India, an M.S. degree in Oral Pathology, Radiology and Diagnostic Sciences at Indiana University, and a D.D.S. degree from the University of Nebraska. He currently serves as the Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology Residency Program Director for the college. In 2005 and 2011 the D.M.D. students selected him as the Clinical Sciences Teacher of the Year. Since 2008, he has led a team of 15-20 D.M.D. dental students on mission trips to Ecuador, participating in all aspects of planning and performing care. In 2010, he led a team of five dental students to India to familiarize them with a different system of education.
