Rave Reviews for Acid Etch 2009
The Fourth Annual Acid Etch Talent Show, May 6, raised $1,500 for Love Without Boundaries, received rave reviews and showcased amazing, not-so-hidden talents of UF College of Dentistry students and faculty.
Critics were full of praise for the performers. Marc Gale, D.M.D. M.Ed., who has served as a judge for all four talent shows said, “This year’s was fantastic; it was the best they’ve ever put on. The overall talent field was unbelievable, the video skits were excellent and the whole place was packed.”
It doesn’t get much better than that.
To top it off, the whole event was for a great cause. Through ticket sales and fundraisers held at Chili’s and Tropical Smoothie Café, the Dental Ambassadors raised enough money to sponsor an entire cleft lip reconstructive surgery a Huainan infant who is currently living in the Anhui Cleft Healing Home.
There were 14 performers who danced, drummed, sang, played instruments, or entertained the crowd with their own special talent, plus video skits from the classes of 2009, 2011 and 2012.
The Dental Ambassadors expressed their warmest gratitude to everyone who donated, attended and participated in this event as well as the Academy of Alumni and Friends, Censeri Abare, the Office of Continuing Education, Adrian Lovell and Gary Palsis who served as Masters of Ceremonies and Dr. Stephanie Reeder, Dr. Marc Gale, & Dr. Buddy Clark who served as judges.
