UF COD Student Receives National Fellowship

Yue “Maggie” WangCongratulations to Yue “Maggie” Wang who was selected as one of 10 dental students in the country for the Academic Dental Careers Fellowship Program by the American Dental Research Association (AADR) and the American Dental Education Association (ADEA).

The fellowship program, designed to reach students attending all U.S. and Canadian dental schools, provides selected dental students with an opportunity to experience the benefits and rewards of teaching. Ultimately the goal is to encourage students to enter academic dentistry.

Selected students participate in a year-long fellowship program about academic dental careers, and experience mentor training and are also exposed to external partnerships. Fellows receive a $4,000 stipend to help fund their attendance at two training sessions during the year.

Maggie has been invited to the AADR/ADEA Annual Session in Dallas on March 31 to be recognized during the award announcement, and the fellowship program begins this July with a three-day orientation and training session in Chantilly, Va.

We’re proud of Maggie and her mentor, Dr. Roberta Pileggi, for bringing this honor to the UF College of Dentistry.
