UF Periodontist Honored by Colleagues

D. Lawrence Brock, D.M.D., assistant clinical professor of periodontology at the University of Florida College of Dentistry, was honored by faculty of the department of periodontology during the college’s annual senior banquet for graduating University of Florida student dentists. Brock received the 2007 Educator Award from the American Academy of Periodontology, an international organization dedicated to the advancement of periodontal and general health of the public. This award is bestowed upon a periodontal faculty member who demonstrates “outstanding teaching and mentoring in periodontics.” Brock was cited for his contributions to the department as interim director of the post-graduate program while teaching in the undergraduate arena, as well as his recent board certification in periodontology.
